Elementary is an American TV adaptation of Sherlock Holmes. It stars Jonny Lee Miller as Sherlock Holmes and Lucy Liu as Dr. Joan Watson. Holmes has moved to New York and is working with the NYPD as a consulting dectective.
At the start of the series, Watson is hired by Sherlock's father to be Sherlock's sober companion, to help him stay sober after getting out of rehab for a heroin addiction. As the series progresses Holmes teaches Watson the art of deduction.
